Area of steel x length of steel x factor of safty of steel

take square of bar number and divide it by 52 this will give you the weight of bar in kg / foot

e.g.weight of 3/8" dia bar is 3*3/52 = 0.173 kg / foot

or cut an exact 1 foot length of bar and weigh it to get the unit weight of bar
